About ColdSeedPress

ColdSeedPress is a Turkish manufacturer of commercial and industrial cold press oil machines, built for export and sold to buyers who press seed for a living.

We make the machine. We do not sell oil, and we do not compete with our customers. Our job is to hand over a press that runs a defined seed, at a defined rate, on the electrical supply the buyer actually has.

What we build

Our range is screw (expeller) cold presses in four sizes, plus a modular production line built from several presses running in sequence.

The small and mid sizes run on single-phase power. The largest press runs on three-phase. A CSP-LINE configuration puts two, four or more presses together when one machine can no longer keep up with the seed volume.

The presses are stated to handle black cumin (nigella), sesame, flax and linseed, safflower, sunflower, pumpkin seed, walnut, almond, chia, hazelnut, peanut, canola and rapeseed, tea seed, argan, avocado, coconut and copra, soy, hemp seed, and passion fruit seed.

Specifications for each model — throughput, motor and heater power, voltage, dimensions, weight and residual oil in the cake — are published on the model pages. Those figures are the reference. We do not quote different numbers by email.

Cold pressing is an engineering problem

“Cold press” is not a marketing word to us. It is a temperature constraint, and everything in the machine has to respect it.

Heat is easy to create in a screw press. Friction in the barrel, a chamber that is too tight, a screw turning faster than the seed can absorb — all of it puts energy into the oil instead of getting oil out. The result may look like more litres in the short run, but the oil changes: aroma flattens, colour darkens, shelf life shortens, and the product stops satisfying the customers who pay a premium for cold pressed.

So we design around the opposite priority. Screw geometry, barrel clearance and running speed are set so the seed is worked mechanically rather than cooked. The heater on the press is there for controlled start-up and for stabilising the chamber, not for driving oil out with heat.

This is also why we publish a power draw range for each machine separately from the rated motor. The rated motor tells you what to wire. The draw range tells you what the press actually pulls while running, which is what you need when sizing a generator or checking a weak grid.

Residual oil in the cake is the honest number

If you want to compare two presses fairly, do not start with throughput. Start with how much oil is left in the cake.

Oil yield percentages are unreliable as a sales claim. Yield depends on the seed, the harvest, the oil content of that particular lot and the moisture at the moment of pressing. Two machines given two different sesame lots can produce very different yield figures, and neither number tells you much about the machine.

Residual oil in the cake is different. It is the oil the press failed to extract, measured on what comes out of it. It is the figure we state per model, and it is the figure we would ask about if we were the buyer. A press that runs fast and leaves oil behind loses you money on every kilogram of seed, quietly, forever.

Throughput still matters, but it is a planning figure: it tells you how many shifts you need to move your seed volume. Cake residue tells you what the press is worth.

Why single-phase machines matter

A large part of our export market does not have clean, reliable three-phase power where the pressing actually happens. Small mills, farm-side processing, workshops in market towns, a first production room behind a retail shop.

The common answer from suppliers is to sell a three-phase machine and let the buyer deal with the electrical work. That shifts the hardest part of the project onto the person least equipped to solve it.

So most of our range is built for single-phase supply, and sized so it can run on the kind of generator a small operation can realistically buy and fuel. When the volume genuinely justifies three-phase, we say so, and the largest press exists for exactly that case.

How we work with buyers

Specification before quotation. We ask what seed, how many kilograms per day, how many hours the machine will run, and what the power supply is. A quote written without those answers is a guess. If your daily volume points to a different model than the one you asked about, we tell you before you order, not after.

Seed testing. Seeds behave differently. Hard shells, high-moisture material, small light seeds like chia, oily nuts — each changes how the press should be set up. Where a seed is unusual or the buyer is unsure, we would rather test it than assume.

Export documentation. As an importer you should ask every supplier, including us, for the documents your customs authority and food safety regulator require. That normally means the commercial invoice and packing list, certificate of origin, the machine’s technical file and manual, electrical and conformity documentation appropriate to your market, and any pre-shipment inspection your import regime imposes. Settle this in writing during quotation, not after the container ships. A supplier who is vague about paperwork is telling you something.

Spare parts and wear. A screw press has parts that wear: the screw, chamber components, gaskets, bearings. That is normal. What is not normal is being unable to buy them. Ask any supplier which parts wear first, how they are ordered, and whether they ship separately from a new machine. We plan for parts as part of the sale, not as a surprise later.

Installation and first run. We supply the machine’s documentation, wiring requirements and operating guidance so a competent local technician can install and commission it. Setting the press up correctly on your seed on day one is worth more than anything written in a brochure.

What you can expect from us

Straight technical answers, including when the answer is that our machine is not the right fit for your volume or your seed. We would rather lose an order than sell a press that disappoints someone six months in.

Specifications that read the same wherever you find them. Sizing advice based on your seed and your shift pattern, not on the model we would most like to sell.

And no invented numbers. If we do not have a verified figure for something, we say we do not have it.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell cold pressed oil as well as machines?

No. We manufacture cold press oil machines only. We do not produce or trade oil, so we are never competing with the customers who buy our presses.

Can you help me choose between models?

Yes, and we prefer to. Send us the seed you will press, the kilograms you need to process per day, the hours you can run, and your power supply. Those four answers determine the model. If the size you asked about is wrong for your volume, we will say so before you order.

What documentation should I ask for as an importer?

Ask for the commercial invoice and packing list, certificate of origin, the machine's technical file and operating manual, and the electrical and conformity documentation your market requires. Confirm what your customs authority and food safety regulator expect during quotation, not after shipping.

Are spare and wear parts available?

Yes. A screw press has parts that wear in normal use, including the screw, chamber components, gaskets and bearings. We treat parts availability as part of the sale and can supply them separately from a new machine.

Why do you publish residual oil in the cake instead of an oil yield percentage?

Oil yield depends on the seed batch, its oil content and its moisture, so the same machine can show very different yield figures on different lots. Residual oil in the cake measures what the press failed to extract, which is a property of the machine rather than of the harvest. It is the fair way to compare presses.
